Avero's Tip Report
Available in: Professional subscriptions only
The Tips section of Avero allows you to understand your servers' total tips and tip percentages. Tip percentages are based on all checks paid by credit card within your POS.
In this article, the following topics will be discussed:
Running the Tips Report
The Tips report is located under the Service tab within Avero. You can run the Tips report on a monthly basis to understand how your tip percentage varies across different team members.
Every Avero report has a unique Report Generator to help you filter your results using metric filters. This is the meat of your report. Each report within Avero has a defined number of metrics that can be included in one report. We have defined all of the metric options on the Metrics page.Once you've made your choices, hit Go. For instructions on how to utilize the Report Generator, reference this article.
Using Employee Class Filters
When using this report, you should narrow down your Employee Class if you are comparing tip percentages since servers and bartenders might have varying tip percentages in your business.
Viewing the Tips Report
The Tips report is displayed in a table format. Keep the following in mind when viewing the table:
- Employees are listed on the left-hand side of the report
- You can view the data more frequently (daily or weekly) so you can have more frequent coaching conversations with your team
- The "Tips" column ONLY includes Direct Tips. Any other surcharges -including service charges, and automatic gratuities- are included in "Other Charges."
- If a server has a lower tip percentage than their peers on a consistent basis, they might be overwhelmed or need additional training.
- If a server has a much higher tip percentage than their peers, make sure they don't also have high promotion and void usage. This could point to understanding guests in order to make higher tips.
Why don't the tip values here match the Payroll report?
