Avero's Group Payroll Report
Available in: Professional subscriptions only
The Group Payroll report provides insight into pay rates, hours, and pay per employee across multiple businesses. This information allows you to identify discrepancies across job classes and locations, and track employees that may work at more than one outlet.
In this article, the following topics will be discussed:
Running a Group Payroll Report
The Group Payroll report is located within the Labor module in Avero. You will see this report as long as you have access to two or more businesses.
By default, this report will show you all employees' hours worked and subsequent pay yesterday. This information is pulled directly from your POS (if labor is integrated) or time clock system.
Like every Avero report, Void Summary has a unique Report Generator to help you filter your results using metric filters. This is the meat of your report. Each report within Avero has a defined number of metrics that can be included in one report. We have defined all of the metric options on the Metrics page.Once you've made your choices, hit Go. For instructions on how to utilize the Report Generator, reference this article.
Using Attributes and Tags to Filter Group Payroll Report
Attributes and Tags are fully customizable and will help you organize all of the businesses within your enterprise, into distinct groups based on similar characteristics.
Example: if a "Region" attribute is selected, then the next step would be to select the specific region you want to analyze. Once selected, the businesses that pertain to that region will group together. Tags will then extract businesses from that grouping.

Job Class
Avero reflects the Job Classes as they are defined in your POS (if labor is integrated into your POS) or time clock system. These are also tied to departments, such as Front of House or Back of House.
Viewing the Group Payroll Report
Due to the nature of the data in the report, the Group Payroll report does not include a visualization. Instead, the data is displayed within a table. When viewing the table, keep the following in mind:
- You are able to view by Employees or Business, in order to compare across the group.
- If viewed by Employees, you will see all Employees listed out with their respective job classes and businesses worked during the time range selected.
- Hours, Hourly Rate, and Total Pay for each employee will allow you to see who your most costly employees are, which employees have accrued the most Overtime, and which Businesses have the highest payroll.
Please note: Not all POS and time-clock systems support all of these data types.
What if I have employees that work in multiple outlets / locations?
The Group Payroll Report recognizes that the same employee may work at multiple outlets or locations, a practice especially common at hotel or casino properties with multiple outlets in one large operation.
Avero will combine employees that work across multiple businesses based on a “Labor Employee Map Metric”. This metric will be assigned at the organization or "parent" level in the Avero database. By default, it will be Employee ID, however, it can also be set to (First and Last Name) or (Payroll ID#). This mapping will be used in the Group Payroll and Group Overtime reports to combine the entries for employees that have worked in multiple outlets, so that you do not see two line items for one employee that worked in multiple venues.
