When cleaning up the POS server, the daily task that kicks off the Avero data extraction may get removed in error. For On-Premise systems, it can easily be recreated following the below instructions. If you are using an On-Premise system, follow these instructions to recreate the Avero AM Task. If you are not sure, select your system from our list of *Avero POS Integrations to view the system type.
Add or Edit the Avero AM Task
Avero's daily extraction of your POS data is triggered by an automated Windows task. If you have admin access to your POS Server, you can add a missing daily task or edit an existing task to update the time.
Adding a New Task / Replacing a Missing Task
Someone may accidentally delete the automated task, it may be removed by an automated security cleanup or unknowing party, or it may have failed to create at installation. Here's how to add it back.
To manually create a new Avero task, please follow the instructions below:
- Open the Task Scheduler on your POS Server and select Create Task
- If you aren't sure how to find it, type "Task Scheduler" into your Windows Search Bar
- Enter information on 3 tabs: General, Triggers, Actions
- Under General Tab:
- Name the task: Avero
- Select Run whether user is logged on or not and Run with Highest Privileges
- Select Change User or Group and type in SYSTEM
- Triggers Tab:
- Select New to create a new Trigger (this will be the time our utility extracts your data)
- Select Daily and input the time (default is 6am, this time must be at least 30 minutes after the POS processes end of day)
- Click OK
- Actions Tab:
- Select New to create a new action (this will tell the computer to launch our data extraction)
- Program/script field: Select Browse and locate path C:\Avero\rtdataex.exe or D:\Avero\rtdataex.exe
- Browse > Click C Drive > Click Avero folder > find rtdataex.exe, click it to select
- Add Arguments: /d yesterday
- Click OK
- Your task is created!
- Under General Tab:
- Test the task:
- In the Task Scheduler, locate your new Avero task > right-click and select RUN
Your task is created! This task will run each day at the set time to extract the sales data from your POS.
Changing the Time of the Avero Automated Task
If you need to change the task time, you can open the task and adjust the Trigger time, but this time must be at least 30 minutes after your POS processes end of day. Data loads into Avero within an hour of being received so set your reports to at least 2 hours after your task time.
To update the trigger time of an Avero task, please follow the instructions below:
- Open the Task Scheduler on your POS Server and find the task labeled AVERO
- If you aren't sure how to find it, type "Task Scheduler" into your Windows Search Bar
- Open the task and select the Triggers tab:
- It should be set to Daily and input the new time (default is 6am, this time must be at least 30 minutes after the POS processes end of day)
- Click OK
