What is Avero?
Avero is a reporting and analytics platform that imports POS Sales and Labor data for your analysis and business insights. We focus on core features that help restaurants of all sizes and complexities Save Time, Drive Revenue, Protect Profits, and Manage Costs.
What is BirchStreet?
BirchStreet is a procurement-to-pay solution, meaning it helps hotels, casinos, and large F&B operations with inventory management, ordering, invoice management, payments, and more. You can read more about BirchStreet on their website: https://www.birchstreetsystems.com/
What does the Avero-BirchStreet Integration do?
Avero and BirchStreet have a two-way integration allowing for each to send and receive data from the other. There are 2 exports used to accomplish this.
POS Sales Data
Avero gets POS sales data directly from your Point of Sale and loads it into the Avero analytics platform for you to access. We also can send this sales data out to partners that you may wish to use sales data for their products and services, such as accounting or inventory management, if we have an existing integration and agreement with that partner.
Avero can export sales data from your Point of Sale and send it to BirchStreet so POS sales can be associated directly with your procurement and inventory system.
This export is sent from Avero to BirchStreet and contains the POS Sales data for the previous day. If corrections, schedule adjustments, or resends are needed, you would open a ticket with Avero Support for assistance.
Item Cost Data
BirchStreet assists with procurement (purchasing) and inventory management, so this platform contains the costs for the items you sell.
BirchStreet can export this cost information for your menu items and send it to Avero so Item Cost data can be associated with menu items in your Avero reporting and analysis.
This export is sent from BirchStreet to Avero and contains the listed cost (in BirchStreet) for each menu item. This allows users of Avero to see their Item Sales with a cost associated to each item and perform Menu Engineering for their pricing and profitability audits. If corrections, schedule adjustments, or resends are needed, you would open a ticket with BirchStreet Support for assistance.
How do I set up the integration?
Currently, this integration is only available for enterprise accounts that already have a corporate relationship with BirchStreet. Reach out to your BirchStreet or Avero point of contact at your organization, or open a ticket with Avero Support to inquire if your organization is currently eligible.
What do I do if I am not seeing Item Cost in Avero?
The Item Cost originates with BirchStreet, so any issues with this export should be directed to BirchStreet support.
What do I do if I am not seeing POS Sales data in BirchStreet?
If data is missing from the POS/Avero for the previous day, the export will not be sent. It may need to be resent by request after the fact. Avero Support will always want to double check that the file was not received/sales are not showing in BirchStreet because if we send the file twice it will import into BirchStreet both times and the sales will appear doubled. As this relates to inventory and ordering, the depletions, or items expected to be removed from inventory due to sale, will appear double and may impact your inventory and ordering policies and procedures.
You'll take three steps:
- Log into Avero and make sure we have data for the date.
- If data is missing, open a ticket with Avero Support to report the missing data first, then request the resend to BirchStreet once recovered.
- If data is present in Avero, double-check that no data is in BirchStreet.
- If we send the file twice it will import into BirchStreet both times and the sales will appear doubled, which causes duplicate depletions to your inventory and is difficult to correct after the fact.
- If data is present in Avero and you have confirmed it is not in Birchstreet: Open a ticket with Avero Support.
