Why do I need to tag Events?

What is a Tag?

A Tag is a descriptor of an event and a single event can have many Tags.

Example: your Weekly Wine Special might be tagged with BOGO, Wine Promo, and Happy Hour.

The same Tag might be used many times on many different events.

 

Is it important for me to Tag events?

Yes! The Tags you add to events allow you to analyze events in the Report Generator using those Tags. Want to see how all your events tagged with Wine Promo are performing? Want to see the impact of all your BOGO promos and then compare that to your % Coupon promos? Tags make it possible.

If you have not yet tagged any of your events, don't worry! You can edit any of your events, past or future, and add as many Tags as you'd like.

 

Can I create new Tags?

Yes. To do this, complete the following steps:

1. Click the link below the list of Tags that says “Add a new Tag”
2. Type the name of the Tag you’d like to create,

Please Note: You can only create new text-based Tags.
