Units of Measure
Units of measure allow you to add conversions to your ingredients. By doing this, you have flexibility in adding this product to recipes or counting the product in different units of measure.
This article will discuss the following:
How do Units of Measure work?
Here is an example: if you have pinot noir, you most likely purchase it by the case. However, you may take inventory on the pinot noir by the bottle or create a recipe for your pinot noir by the glass that contains 6 FlOz of that pinot noir. As a result, you will need to build out the proper conversions within the product.
The case to each conversion should be 1 CS (case) = 12 EA (each) where in this case, an "each" represents a bottle. Below that, you should add a volume conversion of 1 EA (each) = 750 ML. By adding the volume unit of ML, our system will allow you to utilize any volume unit, such as FlOz when adding this product to a recipe.
