Hourly Item Sales Trend Reports
Trend Reporting is a helpful way to analyze averages or see incremental changes over time. In Summary or Detail reports (such as Group Sales Summary or Item Sales Detail) each day is displayed side by side. In Hourly complex reports (such as this report or Hourly Labor Report) the columns are used to display the activity for each hour or incremental portion of the day, so the average for the trend is displayed.
This means that running an Hourly Item Trend for the last 15 Mondays will show you the average labor over the last 15 Mondays for each hour of the day (or down to 15-minute increments). This is a great tool for making decisions and tracking trends based on recent trends and your actual performance:
This report shows an average across 7 recent Mondays, with the average total items sold for each hour of the day.
You can use the average Covers or average Checks to see customer volume - and Item Qty or Gross Sales to see how much items are contributing to your daily sales on average.
How are sales by hour calculated?
For our hourly sales information, item transaction time is used to provide real-time reporting and to sidestep any operational challenges such as checks being kept open until the end of service.
Please note however, Avero is limited to displaying times based on what is provided by your Point of Sale system.
The following POS systems only provide the Check Open Time for item transactions, so sales will only be listed at the time the check was opened:
- Aldelo,
- Infogenesis (on-premise and cloud),
- Lightspeed,
- Micros Simphony On-Premise,
- PosiTouch,
- Squirrel POS.
The following POS systems only provide the Check Close Time for item transactions, so sales will only be listed at the time the check was closed:
